Blacks at Microsoft (BAM) is offering its scholarship program to black employees at Microsoft Corporation.
BAM will award three scholarships that are worth $5,000 to outstanding high school seniors that wish to pursue careers in technology or select business programs including finance, business administration, or marketing.
As a matter of fact, the scholarships are renewable. So, any winner that continues to meet the criteria is eligible to receive an annual financial aid of $5,000 for up to four (4) consecutive years which is a total of $20,000.
However, a total of 24 scholarship runners-up will be eligible for a one-time $2,500 BAM technology scholarship based on need.
What is the scholarship worth?
The Blacks at Microsoft (BAM) scholarship is worth #5,000. Interestingly, the scholarship is renewable. What this means is that; winners who continue to meet the eligibility requirements can receive an annual award of $5,000 for up to four consecutive years. This is a total of $20,000.
In addition, five (5) scholarship runners-up will be eligible for a $1,500 Microsoft technology scholarship based on need.
Eligibility Criteria for the Blacks at Microsoft Scholarship
The following criteria qualifies one to be eligible for the BAM scholarship:

The Blacks at Microsoft (BAM) scholarship is for high school seniors that wish to pursue a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, computer information systems, or select business programs including finance, business administration, or marketing.
The Microsoft scholarship will take place in the USA.
Applicants of the BAM scholarship must be of African descent (African American or African).
How can I apply for the Blacks at Microsoft Scholarship?
The application for the Blacks at Microsoft scholarship is done online. You can apply by submitting the following documents online:
- Extracurricular activities
- Your honors and awards (if possible, put the awards that are technology related)
- Work experience
- Explain how you plan to engage in the technology industry in your future career. (If you have done exemplary work using technology during high school, please describe that also). You should write this in no more than 500 words.
- State your financial need for the BAM scholarship in no more than 250 words.
